What makes a “good” tradeshow display? People ask this question all the time.
Do you know what elements you should really focus on when building your trade show display concept?
Here are the three most important tradeshow booth elements that really grab people’s attention to a tradeshow display:
1. Larger than life.
Elements that larger than life (“big”) cannot help but capture people’s attention. That means “big” branding, “big” graphics and “big” displays, etc. The “big” list could go on. It’s hard to ignore the power of “big.”
2. Movement. People are curious to see what is going on. What’s going on could be movement from a simple candy dish, to very active tradeshow booth staff, to just a product demonstration in the booth.
3. Lighting. The human eye will always seek out a large source of light. Lighting should be an integral part of your booth design and budget. Lighting is an investment that will greatly affect your tradeshow ROI. For you to be seen, lighting is a worthy investment. Avoid a budget crunch. Plan ahead to be illuminated!
Here is an example of how we used all three elements to design a custom tradeshow exhibit for Vytran, a leader in optical fiber processing technologies. With this creation, we helped Vytran be a leader in gaining “optical” attention and tradeshow traffic.
The custom island tradeshow display we designed for Vytran is a beautiful example of a well-designed exhibit using height, textured materials and lighting – all features that will attract attention. The design is also a good example of how to use booth space to accommodate product demonstrations.
Design Challenge: Overall, the client wanted more light in their trade show both. Vytran also felt their logo shape needed more drama and they wanted their graphics to really stand out. The Vytran tradeshow booth needed to be refurbished for more WOW factor. A refreshing, high-tech look that adequately reflects Vytran’s image as an industry leader and builds strong brand identity was key. The booth would need to be used at various trade shows throughout the United States in a 20’x20’ booth space.
Design Solution: New 3-D backlit logos on the backwall and counters were added to boost the lighting and attract attention. The graphics were changed from spotlights to 1/4″ deep LED lightboxes, really gaining booth attention from across the floor. By paying close attention to detail, the Vytran trade show booth has been a huge success for many years.
If you bundle these three key elements all into your tradeshow display (over-the-top tradeshow exhibit lighting, plus big, bold, attractive and interactive features), you have a home run for attracting attention to your tradeshow exhibit.
