5 Apps Trade Show Marketers Can’t Live Without

Here an app…there an app…everywhere an app app. Yes, if you own a smart phone or a tablet, you have a favorite app of some sort by now. It might be a game, or a productivity app that helps keep you organized. You might choose to spend your free time trying to knock out some angry little pigs. Maybe you like to be the high-tech one in your office with tools that just make your life easier, thereby making you more functional at work, especially as a marketer. For trade show marketing, especially being on the go, you need access to the things you create, anytime, anywhere. There are some pretty special apps that we just can’t live without that help us do this.
More and more are popping up every day, but for now, here are 5 apps we just couldn’t do without:

1. Evernote

Who knows when your next idea for a marketing campaign will spring up. You might be in a trade show booth, or maybe you’re on your way to the trade show, How can you make sure you don’t forget the next great lead generation or trade show marketing idea that’s the next best thing since sliced bread? Evernote.

The thing we love most about Evernote is that all of your information, is available wherever you go, on the web, on your phone, on your tabletEvernote works with nearly every computer, phone and mobile device out there. And there’s this neat webclipper that you can easily install as a bookmarklet on your devices and web browser to Collect information from anywhere into a single place. From text notes to web pages to files to snapshots, everything is always at your fingertips. Be the rockstar you always wanted to be. Check it out.

2. Boxnet

We’re torn between two great ways to access your content, Box (formerly known as Box.net), and Dropbox. With both you can be fully mobile and access your content from any decide, like an iPad, iPhone, the web and more. You can take your files with you, and you are connected with your content anywhere, on any device. We have chosen to share Box as our file sharing mobile tool of choice for marketers, including trade show marketers, just because of its successful history in helping us to save the day for our trade show clients.

View Your content From any device. You can also see the latest versions of files you recently updated while you’re on the go, so you’re always in the know.

Share Your content and send a file, or maybe even folders or files, by just emailing a link with a few taps on your mobile device. Get that contract to your client before leaving the meeting, not after.

Upload Your content and share pictures while you’re at the trade show? You can put everything on Box, from any device. You can even invite friends or co-workers to your folders.

One thing we really love about Box is that you can send files that are too large to send by email and immediately give access to any other members of your team. It might be someone on the trade show floor.

3. Protaskinote

One reason we love Protaskinote is that we are often in a situation where we need to keep the tasks as hand for the trade show marketing projects we are working on.

Creating an activity list can then be used to visually connect the dots, and come up with the deliverables needed to get the marketing to be divided into smaller more manageable pieces. Yes, marketers have long been doing this using many different paper notebooks, but now with Protaskinote, the problem is solved, and we can take it on the go, and always be able to manage, complete and cross tasks off of our lists.

With Protaskinote, everything is placed in a way that makes sense. Tap on a title or date to change it, or tap on any task to see its details… easy.

Adding tasks (typed or hand-written), searching, tags and sorting are all easy to reach. You want to mark a task important? Highlight it!
Don’t feel like typing all the time? Use a pen!

Sometimes typing or writing a task alone isn’t enough. We need more than that and being able to type our tasks then pen in our handwritten notes is well… very useful, engaging and a lot of fun!

4) Hootsuite

There are so many reasons we love Hootsuite. It saves a lot of time and sanity. It improves our productivity so hat we can manage our social networks, including twitter, facebook, google plus, and more. If you’re a marketing, especially in trade show marketing, it’s impossible to be everywhere all the time. In social media, you need to maintain your presence, but you also have to listen.

In trade show marketing, when you’re at the trade show, how can you effectively manage your presence and your social media content. Especially when you’re taking pictures at the show?
HootSuite gives you a dashboard that helps us marketers monitor, post, and also effectively measure the engagement on our activity. We can schedule Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ posts throughout the day. If you have multiple accounts, you can manage those, too, using Hootsuite.

We can also use Hootsuite to report and figure out how to increase our social media traffic, followers, and clicks with analytics that Hootsuite profices. Hootsuite also has a neat Hootlet bookmark that allows you to share webpages you find of interest from a web browser and be able to schedule them. Hootsuite is a great tool for social media marketing, a very important channel in trade show marketing, that is becoming increasingly more important as we move towards mobile technology.

So there you have it – 5 little apps that can make a world of difference for your trade show marketing. You may have your own favorites you’d like to share with us as we always keep on top of the latest greatest trands in social media and trade show marketing. The two go hand in hand!
